The awards keep coming for the 2015 Acura TLX.
After recently earning the Top Safety Pick designation from the Insurance of Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), the 2015 Acura 2015 added another award to its growing trophy collection. While the Top Safety Pick recognized Acura’s innovative suite of safety and driver assist technologies, the Best Value Award given by Kiplinger’s Personal Finance to the 2015 Acura TLX rewards the sedan for providing the most bang for the buck. Cutting edge road sensors and collision avoidance features lead the value charge for the 2015 TLX. The TLX not only received the Best Value Award, the sedan also garnered recognition for the Best New/Redesigned Car in the $40,000-$50,000 luxury category.
Acura Division vice President and General Manager, Michael Accavitti, said the awards won by the 2015 TLX have bolstered the luxury vehicle brand. “The all-new TLX delivers thrilling performance with impeccable style, an extensive list of luxury features, and of course, value on a luxury scale,” said Accavitti. “As Acura’s sedan line-up continues to strengthen, the marketplace is taking notice, and we are honored to receive this recognition from Kiplinger’s.”
Acura customers select among five trims to customize their driving experiences behind the wheel of the 2015 TLX. The 2.4-liter, inline 4 engine delivers 206 horsepower and 182 pounds-feet of torque. TLX customers who want more power opt for the larger V6 engine that produces 290 horsepower and 267 pounds-feet of torque. Precision All-Wheel Steer technology adjusts the rear wheels to angles that complement the position of the front wheels. On the highway, the rear wheels work with the front wheels to increase vehicle stability for sharp turns and abrupt lane changes. The 2015 Acura TLX provides value at the pump, where owners of the sedan benefit from fuel economy of 24 mpg in the city and 35 mpg over the open road.
Since the TLX arrived in dealerships, the luxury sedan has emerged as one of Acura’s fastest selling models. Acura engineers designed the 2015 TLX to blend interior luxury refinement with a sports sedan sculpted exterior. The TLX appeals to a wide customer base by offering three powertrains and advanced chassis technologies that quickly respond to the deft touches applied by drivers.
Kiplinger’s bases its Best Value Award on an extensive review of over 100 vehicles. The finance publication considers a number of factors, including vehicle price, safety, performance, interior space, and driving impressions.
